My Review:

I really love books that have a creepy, paranormal, horror flare to them. Even though I’m the type who watches scary movie with the lights on (and still gets creeped out by the tiniest of things afterwards), I still love to read these YA books.

Grady Hendrix is a TERRIFYING horror writer. But in the best of ways. There are so many words that I could use to describe reading this book. It was gut-clenching, heart-throbbing, creepy yet exciting. Ultimately, beautifully scary.

It was VERY hard for me to put this book down.  Surprises and plot twits were around every corner. Many of the parts were unexpected at best. The possession (cause obviously there is one) began to get messed up, darker, and more terrifying in the second half.  Suspense was climbing and the plot was unforeseen.  He would lead you to think one thing would happen, and then BOOM.. curve ball. Many times I would stop reading and ask myself, “How did that just happen?!?”

My Best Friend’s Exorcism: A Novel deserves 100% 5 out of 5 stars.  I was captivated, surprised,  and terrified. The characters developed through the crazy situations which seemed pretty realistic if it were to really happen. I really enjoyed how the ending played out as well. It definitely wasn’t an ending you see very often in books.

I highly recommend that if you lover horror books then this is a great YA story you will regret not picking up.
