For those of you who may be new to what an Owlcrate is, it is a monthly book subscription box that is filled with one newly released book and a few other fun bookish goodies that all relate to a specific theme for that month.

I have been a subscriber for almost a year to date, and I have no desire to stop!  If you love bookish things from diverse independent shops, or you just love YA, this box will be perfect for you. For more information, you can click HERE to go to the Owlcrate website to find prices and more about the company.

Here is what was inside 🙂 :  (Harry the Owl not included)

Like every box, the first thing you will find is the info card that includes all of the information on each of the items selected for the box.  DO NOT FLIP THIS OVER until you have seen all of the items.  You will spoil yourself, and who wants that? 🙂

But under all the frilly paper is the first item under the Sci-Fi romance theme.  Which is…

A wooden TARDIS brooch featuring the Police Box from the Dr. Who series! Clip this on any fabric to add a ‘lil spice to any accessory. This fun item is from Victor Engraving which can be found on Etsy.

The next item features the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.  This cute, pink tote shows the SHIPs of each of the books in the series from the Owlcrate team. Tote Bag + Lunar = PERFECT!!

To add to the sci-fi part of the theme is this reprint of HG Wells’s The Time Machine from Rock Paper Books. The bookmark that was included also came with a coupon code for more goodies from the company.

And FINALLY,  for the book…

…DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry!

Synopsis:

“Natalie Cleary must risk her future and leap blindly into a vast unknown for the chance to build a new world with the boy she loves.

Natalie’s last summer in her small Kentucky hometown is off to a magical start… until she starts seeing the “wrong things.” They’re just momentary glimpses at first—her front door is red instead of its usual green, there’s a pre-school where the garden store should be. But then her whole town disappears for hours, fading away into rolling hills and grazing buffalo, and Nat knows something isn’t right.

That’s when she gets a visit from the kind but mysterious apparition she calls “Grandmother,” who tells her: “You have three months to save him.” The next night, under the stadium lights of the high school football field, she meets a beautiful boy named Beau, and it’s as if time just stops and nothing exists. Nothing, except Natalie and Beau.

Emily Henry’s stunning debut novel is Friday Night Lights meets The Time Traveler’s Wife, and perfectly captures those bittersweet months after high school, when we dream not only of the future, but of all the roads and paths we’ve left untaken.”
